    Not football related, but since you mentioned basketball............ We had by far our worst basketball years in the 80's. We went to post season (usually NCAA) almost every year in the 90's and most years in this decade too, although recent years have been NIT years instead of NCAA years.     Charlotte is almost dead last in state funding despite being the 4th largest system university. No excuse for that.
