Would Henson be draft elligible? I thought, like Hutchinson, that he would not.

I assume Wallace plays for Iowa or Iowa State?

I would think Henson would have to sign a FA contract, not sure, unless someone would have drafted him and claimed rights this year.
Wallace is from ISU, as I stated before. He's the only player form either of the Iowa schools I expect will make much of a splash this year. Watch for him, he'll post some impressive numbers both with his arm and his feet.

I assumed he would be available to be drafted - Josh Booty, Chris Weinke and others considered. Maybe not. Either way - there will be some QBs available when we pick (unless the Panthers make a big turnaround). :D

IMO, Henson would have been right there with Leftwich fighting for #2 on the board if he did enter the draft. Manning is clearly the #1 propect in college ATP. Of course, someone could explode next year and change that - but for now - Manning tops my list.

Henson has descent mobility but a very strong arm with very good accuracy. He could be a franchise QB if he gives up bb.

Here is a story I found on Henson hype...

That’s interesting. I dunno. Hutchinson was in the same situation, and the draft board told him he could just be a street FA.

  5. Who was that Michigan QB that opted to play baseball instead? Drew somebody? Anyways, Bill Walsh wanted to draft him real bad and considered him a top talent at QB for the past 10 years. Can a team just draft someone or does the person have to file to actually enter the draft?

you can draft anyone. The Dallas cowboys drafted Carl Lewis back in the 80's. Michael Vick got drafted by a baseball team last year.

  8. that's him, I thought he was drafted as a pitcher. considering he was drafted by the Yanks, he's going to have a hard time cracking the lineup in the majors. Maybe he'll get sick of minor league ball and go back to football.

If Michigan had only had a D when he was their QB....

Yes, Drew Henson was the Michigan QB that was drafted by the Yanks. He has a ton of talent and I can see why ANYONE would want him running the show.

That Michigan offense was unreal a couple of years ago. Drew Henson- QB, Anthony Thomas - RB, David Terrell and Marquise Walker -WRs. Too bad their def was horrible.
