Wishful thinking I guess, I want us to have some dough next year and the year after.

 

speaking of driving up price, I guess we can thank John Fox. Hard to offer without being willing to spend but interesting he was/is in the running for our two top players.

 

Not arguing with any of this, but I seem to recall that some of the methods of pro-ration and how contracts are managed against the cap have changed with the new CBA. NOt at all sure how, or if, it effects pro-rating the signing bonus.

 

True, the new CBA stuff isn't anything we have any clue about, but I'd guess that signing bonuses are still spread out over multiple years and thus would carry that cap hit into future seasons.

 

I can't imagine there's a way of forcing teams to cover such a high amount of total cap space in cash and there not be a new mechanism for what that cash is. Otherwise it would be impossible for a team like Dallas to bridge the gap between the cap and cash limits.

 

As insane as the contract is, it's not as insane as paying the same amount to Cam Newton.

LOVE the rookie cap deal. Matter of fact, that rule might have saved us johnson.

 

It is a lot of money but I think we had to do it. Lets just hope he can play at a high level for that whole contract.

 

good to have Charles back, it would have been awful if we had lost him to Atlanta.

 

I doubt Atlanta was ever that serious simply because they didn't have a lot of cap room to work with. If they could get him at a bargain price they would have been thrilled, but mostly they just wanted us to spend the maximum.

 

Between that and the salary floor, things are going to be a lot different.
