Channel 14 News Conversation

Has anyone caught the call in show for sports? Its easy to get on. I think it is at 11 or 11:30, anyway, I've called in twice now and they actually did not screen what I was going to say. My conversation was live as I spoke on the phone.

Just thought it would be cool if several of us called in one night during the same show... kinda of a live voice chat.

I forget the guys name that does it during sports, but he acted shocked last night when I told him we never should have drafted Winky... he was listening to me, asked me a few questions, then asked my opinion on Winky and I told him. I guess I was not too bad since he kept me on the longest... the other 3 or 4 callers were cut pretty short.

 

The Panthers took Wienke in what? The 4th round? If Wienke would have been succesfull, the Panthers would look like geniuses. I hate callers that like to go back in time and say shit like 'the panther's should have never drafted wienke'. Nice call Sandman.

Shows who put callers on the air always keep silly callers on the air the longest....

....not that you are silly or anything Sandy.

 

The sports guy brought it up. He was making mention of how he supported Winky being drafted. Then I added my comment. I did not bring Winky up out of the blue....

 

Looking back...

...it was a wasted 4th pick, but I was OK with it at the time. He looked decent in college, so why not waste a 4th. We had two that year anyway...

And we've wasted many more 1sts...

 

And he looked decent until he hurt his shoulder. But his psychology just wasn't tough enough or energetic enough to handle the losses. He's regressed on the field, and though Fox has mentioned him playing well in practices, live bullets are different.

 

nope. wasn't going to carry a team singlehandedly, especially with the talent he's had. Now his confidence's dicked and his accuracy got worse after the injury.

So did you tell him your 'source' on that 8th round pick work of art?

 

Sorry Sandy, but picking up a Heisman QB in the 4th round is a DAMN good pick... had he been a 1st round pick I could agree with you, but on PAPER picking Weinke where we did was a GREAT move

 

As long as he doesn't activate anymore pay incentives then he was a great gamble.
