Does anybody know of a free cd ripper that I can download off the net that doesn't suck? I looked at download.com and there are about a million to choose from. Anyone have one that they think is better than the rest?

For just ripping, I use CDex. It's hard to find and I have a copy of it. No registry stuff and easy to configure for inputting file names and artist names and stuff. A little slow, but the quality is extremely good compared to other 'free' ones out there.

well lookie here, download.com has it again. They lost it at one point. If this doesn't work, just go there and search for cdex.

I'm assuming she's asking for a program that will take the music off a cd and put them in mp3 or .wav format?

Be sure to configure it properly under setup...There are a bunch of things you can play with including the way it names the files.

I usually use artist - song name - track #

This way, when you play them in a playlist, it keeps them in the same order as when they were on the cd.

Jesus, builder. I'm really struggling to suppress my gag reflex.
