Did you know he became a Christian about 20 years ago?
Saw him in concert lots of times. He was great, and always had his wife with him.

My parents had that same type of console stereo and I grew up listening to Johnny Cash 8 tracks. He was the real thing. All the pretty boys in country music today who can not play guitar and do not write songs but get by on their goatee and dancing moves could not tie his shoe strings.

You do know that Hurt was originally written and performed by Nine Inch Nails, don't you? It's on The Downward Spiral CD, the same one that Closer is on, from 1994. I'm a huge nin fan, but I like Cash's version a lot better.

    RIP Johnny, you'll be missed.

He actually covered quite a few songs from a more modern era:D Even covered Depeche mode and a few othersl;) Hurt was a great song but he took it and did something incredable:D

"To hear that Johnny was interested in doing my song was a defining moment in my life's work," said NIN's Trent Reznor. "To hear the result really reminded me how beautiful, touching and powerful music can be. The world has truly lost one of the greats. My heart goes out to his family and friends."

The Nine Inch Nails Web site, www.nin.com, was all black on Friday in tribute.
