Redskins had #2, 3. I think the year the Bears got Butkus, Sayers, same deal.

Colts didn't have a pick in 1991. Not sure if that's related to the 92 pick, but couldn't find any info in the time my attention span allowed.

I am boarderline indifferent...don't care for the potential QB contraversy, but Carr could live up to his potential and become the QB we need to go forward.

Based on what?? History, record and stats sure don't support that position.

    It doesn't matter.

For there to be a real contraversy, and not just talk show, Jake will have to play badly, with us losing. If that happens, we have an option B to try.

If Jake plays well, Carr will sit. No reason to play him, since we really haven't invested much in him.

Carr should be an upgrade over Weinke, so you gotta love that.

WOW. Finally a big FA signing. And it's for a backup.

We did, at least, get a guy for once.

The other supposed signings, Jolley or Bowens, could've been backups too. Bowens certainly.

But that's fine. Theoretically, safety's our only "starting" vacancy. Filling a need is still filling a need. It'd just be a lot more fun/interesting to be able to play with the offense than have to struggle to get a hole fixed in the defense.

So - I'm looking at the stats for carr and Jake on NFL.com.

I never knew Carr ran it so much - averages about 250 yards a year and some TD's. Average of 4.6 ypc.

On the other hand, the LEAST he's been sacked is 41 times in a full season. When that happens so consistently, you gotta think it's got something to do with him and not the line.

Delhomme has been sacked 33 times in his worst year. Last year 22 times. Some may say he'd have been better off taking a sack, but he still threw one less pick than Carr.

    Interesting. Preseason will be fun.
