I really doubt we would've taken Carr #2. Let's say Peppers goes #1 - we'd still have taken McKinnie, Jammer, Henderson.

I agree that Carr has been on his back a lot more than Jake.

possibly, but that's only because of Fox's philosophy of build the team around defense. That doesn't necessarily mean Carr wasn't "good enough" to be a Panther.

I thought their was a report that said the Panthers had Carr rated above Peppers?

they also said Fasani was the #3 rated QB in that draft.
Either way, I'd have to see it, and then believe it. Fox hates rookie QBs and Peppers was undoubtedly the best player out there.

I just hope that Delhome doesnt pull a Jake Plummer and fall into the crapper since I really like Jake. I guess ultimately though, I just want to win and if Carr is the guy taking snaps into January then I can live with that.

I was pretty happy to have the backup position finalized so the speculation over who can end and the speculation as to whether that person can be the #1 guy can begin.

We had that with Chris Weinke. If we'd have signed Tim Couch, we'd have it too.

There's always gonna be some people who idealize the backup.

The Colts had the top two picks in the draft when, 1992 or so? They took Steve Emtman with the first pick, and Quentin Coryatt with the second. Seems like Coryatt told them not to pick him unless he was the first pick, but they took him anyway. I'd love to know how they ended up with the top two picks of that draft.

I doubt that will ever happen again, as overvalued as picks and especially first rounders are nowadays.
