Seems like we really went after him, wonder how much. Two years is good (wasn't Jake's first deal two as well?).

For the sake of a smooth season I hope Jake has his mojo right. Kinda hope we keep Basanez but suspect we might still draft someone we could put two years into if they're not convinced.

edit: Hmm, the number 1 pick in the whole NFL and a guy we were supposedly interested in had he dropped. It must be kismet, lol. But then again, Houston cut him for Schaub (although Houston hasn't been too bright in the past [fingers crossed]).

We own the #1 and #2 picks from one draft. Has that ever happened? Probably, but not within 5 years of that draft, right?

Great add. Makes me feel a helluva lot better about Delhomme, too. He hasn't had this kind of competition since he was brought in. Perhaps it will improve his focus. Or maybe not. Either way, we have two viable starters in queue. Good problem to have.

    I like that he's mobile:11:

Jake first signed for around $2 mil per year. I'm guessing with the price of backups this year Carr was around $2.3M - $2.5M per year. Good chance a lot of it is in incentives though.

Yeah but, looking at it for the catch 22 that it is... probably $2.5 for a player who'll never see the field.. or the end of Jake....
