What about during the football season? I wouldn't suspect Montross would work with Woody in the fall.

Montross gets job on Tar Heels network

    Associated Press

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Eric Montross and Rick Steinbacher are the new color analysts for Tar Heel Sports Network broadcasts for the 2005-2006 seasons.

The two will replace Mick Mixon, who left the network to become the play-by-play announcer for the Carolina Panthers.

Montross, a starter on the 1993 NCAA championship team, was a commentator last year on the radio network at all home men's basketball games and the A-C-C Tournament.

Steinbacher, co-captain of the 1993 football team that won ten games and finished second in the A-C-C, was sideline reporter and analyst for the radio network's football broadcasts from 1994 through 1999. He's in his sixth year as U-N-C's assistant athletic director for football operations.

I am sure Steinbacher is excited

I ran into him a couple of years ago at Concord Mills and he said he really missed doing the football games. But he said the athletic department pays a little better.

I remember in 93 Harold "the big guy" Johnson had to get a "Montross" hair cut to settle a bet after Carolina won
