    Just stating the obvious. That recant was in response to "Why doesn't anyone know who we are?"

    I have to agree with Real on this one.:scared2: I have always thought having a different name for the athletics is vey confusung. When someone ask me what team I pull for, I find myself pausing to gauge the intelect of the person I am talking to. Will they know who Charlotte University is? Are they a basketball fan? Will I have to explain who UNCC is? It really is quite silly if you think about it. Pick one name and go with it.

    I know what you were talking about and agree. I just thought that it was sad on the other board's part, that you had to preface your comments with "I am not trying to be negative here" on that particular thread. you shouldn't have to say that on a message board, it is too bad that anything with a difference in opinion, you have to apologize for.

    Agree. I just wanted people to know that since I'm seen as "Captain Rah Rah", I have the same problem. Who are we? I say "Charlotte", but then I find myself explaining it, too. I give to the UNC Charlotte Foundation, the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association and the Charlotte 49er Athletic Foundation. The Bookstore sells UNC Charlotte merchandise. Campus Sports sells Charlotte 49ers gear. Isn' this stupid?

    Nova said, "Pick one." I pick Charlotte. Wish the rest of the campus did. too.

    By the way, how do you insert the pictures under your name? I never learned that.

    go to the top of the screen and click "user cp"

    then click "edit options"

    then scroll down to "change avatar" where you can use one from this site, or use your own off your computer or another website.

    To be honest - I have never understood why this is such an issue with some of y'all. When I write a check to my alma mater - I write it to UNC-CH or UNC - Chapel Hill. It's real simple - all of the universities (at least as far as I know) within the system are abbrviated this way and all of them have the words University and North Carolina in their names. Why should UNC-C be any different? I mean there was a whole freaking campaign to get rid of teh hyphen for God's sake.

    agreed...I think it's a whole identity thing. I'm fine with UNCC.
