I wanted the Tigers to win it but thats baseball. St. Louis came into the series after going 7 with NY and got hot. Detroit never seemed to regain their momentum after nearly a week off after sweeping the A's. Errors cost them plenty in this series of tight games. Hats off to the Cards. They just keep knocking on the door and this time it swung open for them.

Hats off to the Cards. I truley believe that the Tigers were the better all-around team, but you cannot make that many costly defensive errors from the mound and expect to win. With the exception of game three, the Cards didn't exactly blow the Tigers off the map. To make it back, the Tigers are going to have to focus on keeping all of that fine young pitching and reallocating their pitching talent. (Why is Zumya with a 100+ MPH fastball doing middle relielf and Todd Jones is doing the closing?). Inge, Granderson and Monroe have all put themselves in vulnerable positions, even though Monroe started the Series off hot and Inge gloved the ball well. At this point, I see some major shakeups coming in Detroit (as a long time Tigers fan). I would actually maybe trade Rogers while I could get something for him. Shore up the defense and resign the pitching. Get Cameron Maybin up there maybe?
Congrats to David Eckstein! I love that guy. Considering what his family has been through, his may be the best story of the post season!
    Again, congrats to the Cards.

Maybin is enormously gifted, but he's the absolute last thing Detroit needs right now. They already have an outfield full of athletic, physically talented guys who strike out a ton and rarely walk.

Agreed Collin. Nice point. However, if Maybin can continue to hit at his current clip around the .300 to .320 clip he would be an added bonus to the Tigers............ maybe 2 years from now? He is truly a 5 tool player from what I have seen. Sean Casey has done the job for Detroit since his arrival. He may have been the brightest spot in Detroit's World Series. However, with age, inuries, etc. his time may be done by the time that Maybin does arrive. Would Maybin make a 1st baseman? at 6'4", it may be feasible, even though he is very good in the OF.
