    On that play the linebackers were supposed to have the receiver coverage in their zone, but they both bit on Fitzgerald's fake and ran towards the sidelines. Perhaps 49erpi needs to learn what coverage schemes are.

    Question for the more knowledgeable. Several people commented how Lucas needs to go, and while he hasn't been stellar, my thinking has been that several of the instances of receivers making big plays have been cases of Marshall messing up not Lucas. Not all by any means, but while I liked Marshall in preseason, I'm pretty much over him at this point and if it came to one or the other gone, Marshall would be my first choice.

    Marshall's biggest contribution has been on special teams. He's been a beast on coverage units, but I'm glad people are finally recognizing (and hopefully the organization is too) that he's not a good DB.


    I'm not as down on Lucas as most people are. He's not worth what we're paying him, but there are much worse starting corners in the league. The overall depth at corner is what needs to improve.
