Where did they get all this bad ju ju? They looked great last night and were up 20-0 when I went to bed. It was in the back of my mind that they might fold up though. If they had simply knelt on the ball each possesion for all four downs, after getting up 20-0, they would have won that game.......

I would say that Saint Louis cursed them for leaving but they sucked before that. Leinart looks like the real deal though. I bet some teams are going to regret passing on him.

    They suck.

From top to bottom, they simply are not a very good organization. That's about the only logical explanation that I can come up with. They've had a few tough breaks, sure, but lets not pretend that they are cursed on the same level as the Chicago Cubs. Many of their wounds are self inflicted. They haven't done a great job drafting, and whenever they have found a special player (Simeon Rice), they ultimately don't want to pay that player what he deserves to keep him around.

This year, their mistake was giving an assload of money to one player, without addressing the offensive line. They were expecting some of the young players to step up, but that clearly hasn't happened. The defense is solid, but special teams have been leaky, and you simply cannot win football games if you cannot run the ball and protect the quarterback. Until they get better up front, we shouldn't expect them to be anything more than a 6-10 team. All of the luck in the world won't change that.

In this day and time he can get out of there while in his prime, where Archie was indentured for life.

They've got a losing culture down there. And that in itself is hard to overcome.

Lets admit one thing tho. It was never an attractive place for FA to go.
Why would you knowingly go to a losing org that historically has failed to invest in itself. It really would require a boatload of cash to bring a star FA in.

But they have tried to change things the last few years. They just havent got immediate success. I do believe bringing Denny in was a positive move of bringing in a winning HC and spending some money doing it. Now, while the results havent quite come in yet they still were along way behind in what they had on the field. It took them till now to finally get a RB and a QB that looks like a keeper. Yes there are still holes in the team, but there finally building an O identity in Leinert, James, Fitzgerald, Bolden, Bryant and Pope. Obviously there still some work to go they finally have some working pieces in place. Coupled with a new stadium and what looked like the most ruckus crowd ive ever seen in Arizona I think AZ can break the old mold. I think last night we saw the birth of a new franchise albeit in a losing effort. In two-three years this will be a playoff team IMO.

I second that. A guaranteed winner at QB and a overachieving D WILL rack up plenty of Ws in that stadium

I went to bed with the Cards intercepting Grossman (and he does suck) with around 6:30 left in the game, thinking well, that's it, even the Cards can't screw it up now. This morning when I hit ESPN on the web I found out I was wrong.

The Cards have a new stadium, Leinart looks to be a franchise QB, they have talented wide receivers and a defense that looks fairly decent. I think they have reason to believe they can be competitive in the near future since the Bidwell's appear to have decided to open that rusty wallet to improve the franchise. However, they should never have wasted big bucks on James at RB with that offensive line though. That's a lot of cap space to waste for 3 yards a carry.

Their D was poppin'. Gotta like that if you're a fan of theirs, and they have some weapons on O. Not many teams are gonna run on the Bears.

The toughest thing is to get "find a way to lose" out of their heads, that mentality was out in full bloom last night.
