I don't think you come off as judgemental, I understand what you mean by 'here is the standard'.

I'm not saying that you should quit questioning or seeking answers - Holly seemed to be saying that she would like to speak to Jesus face to face - I'm saying that she can speak to Him heart to heart and get the answers she needs.

Easier said than done. Very hard to listen sometimes.

I guess I could sum up my position on it like this. If the bible says it clearly and without the need for interpretation then I am settled that it is correct. There is a lot of the bible that I do not completely understand and I am not sure that any scholar really does either. I do not believe it has errors in it but I do think that people often times misinterpret it. The jewish religious leaders did not get it right about the messiah. They missed that it was Jesus. I think many leaders today are missing a lot of stuff too. Anyone who claims to understand all of Revelation is kidding themselves.

As far as stuff like Genesis chapter one, it might be a literal seven days and it might be seven of God's days which might equal millions of years each. I do not know for sure but I really do not care much about it either. It does not change what I believe about Jesus and about salvation.

This is especially true for me, if what I'm hearing said is hard to do. If there are parts of the Bible you believe are true, build on those.

Oh, make no mistake -- when He makes His reappearance, He'll definitely be clearing some things up. :59:

    Au contraire...

"Saul" was Saul of Tarsus. You could say he was the 'muscle' for the Pharisees at that time, arresting and even executing followers of Jesus at every opportunity.

Shortly after this encounter, Saul of Tarsus became the apostle Paul.

If you're referring to the creation account, what you have to keep in mind is that Moses wrote Genesis in Hebrew poetry, not prose. Nearly all the language is figurative, as it is in all poetry.

True, but if Paul and Peter -- literally mortal rivals at the beginning -- can come together in agreement on both the gospel account and on the doctrine of the epistles (Paul's letters to the churches that make up the bulk of the New Testament), and if John, the youngest of the apostles and last of them to die did not contradict or condemn Paul's contributions, doesn't that speak volumes in favor of Paul's integrity?
