Actually, I've learned recently that 'taking the Lord's name in vain' isn't cussing. It's proclaiming association with God with an air of pride, as if we earned it or deserved it somehow. When you break the phrase down and really look at it, it makes sense. :twocents:

I'm not saying the Bible says it's okay to cuss. I'm just saying that's not what that particular commandment is targeting. :wink2:

okay, Dollface, blaspheming against the Holy spirit is the unforgivable sin. it is having knowledge that God exist, you believe...but you won't no part of him! God Be DAMned! is what you might say. so saying the GD word is a cuss word and in a way you are saying God Be Damned! so, you are blaspheming God. you might just say it casually, you might use that word and don't think nothing of it, but you really oughta check yoself and stop using such a fowl, nasty word for such a loving God, the God who created you, the God who loves you.

You love your son right? Love him more than life itself, right? How would you feel if he used such fowl words toward you? and so nonchalantly too?

it would hurt right? Well, that's how God feels when you use those fowl words towards you.
