    It makes no sense to have in-person press conferences, for a head coach to be on the sidelines, or for reporters to have press boxes in 2019. It's like we're just doing all of this out of tradition now.

    This is an NFL issue. It’s all part of their comms strategy, as is their desire to keep everything uniform. Trot everybody out on the podium, and let the same 10 people ask the same 10 questions for 10 years.

    Something the White House tried to do for a while, one thing I actually agreed with, was to allow certain mid-level journalists to be a part of the pressers via Skype.

    The NFL should be much more inclusive with the reporting pool. My experience is it’s very exclusive, it’s very hard to break through. And that’s not good. It’s one reason you end up with situations like this.
