'Hell's Kitchen' announces casting call


Ready to go to hell? Producers for Fox's chef reality show "Hell's Kitchen" have announced the details on an open casting call planned in Charlotte next week.

Aspiring star chefs should be at The Pineville Dinner Theatre, 10403 Park Road, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8. The call is open for men and women ages 21 and older with various culinary experience.

Although prior cooking experience is preferred, personality is more important than professional credentials. Producers say they want people who are outspoken, competitive, engaging and passionate about food.

The show is looking for `food lovers, experienced chefs, cooks, fast food and cafeteria workers, private chefs, weekend gourmets and caterers."

"Hell's Kitchen" follows contestants through their experiences working in the kitchen of chef Gordon Ramsay. The prize is a head chef position.

The show also is holding casting calls in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Denver and Washington, D.C.

I would love to. They seem to have the same menu every year and it really cant be that hard. Just let the idiots eliminate themselves and you're good to go. If I were 10 years younger and single, I would go for it. I've been here for almost 11 years and have no plans of uprooting.
