so would you care if ______ came to State and won with Herbs players? I doubt it. get over it. Its not like Roy stepped in and won it all the first year. Doh failed to make the NCAA his last two years there, with the same players. Roy and those players got bounced in the second round before they won it all.

Thing is had Roy not come there's a chance Doh' players would've left anyways and there would be no National Champioship.

haven't followed this story too closely, but did State contact Nate McMillan yet? that should be the first choice IMO.

I never said I'd have a problem with that. If you'll look a couple of posts ahead of that you'll notice that Brane starts pissing all over State for doing about the same thing Carolina did (except Herb wasn't trying to fight a mutiny).

He's already said he doesn't want it, but I don't know if they contacted him. There might be some truth to the 'must have degree' requirement, too.

So basically Calipari passed on the job because State fans were such shitheads that no good coach wants to go there and get immediately criticized for not meeting unrealistic expectations.

I guess we might as well not even try to hire a coach then.

    Quote:
John Calipari was on the brink of accepting the North Carolina State job Monday night.

His eventual change of mind was not because of compensation concerns, however. Rather, he was concerned he wouldn't have enough of a shot at doing what Wolfpack officials want: consistently beating Duke and North Carolina.

so basically Calipari is a big pussy.

glad he stayed - Conference USA is more his speed
