    Calipari telling Memphis players he's staying, WRAL-TV
    N.C. State's hopes of landing Memphis' John Calipari as the next Wolfpack basketball coach have dimmed.

    Calipari, late Tuesday afternoon, called his Tigers players to his home. Memphis sources said it was to tell them that he was staying at Memphis for the 2006-07 season.

    Where the Wolfpack will focus its search now is uncertain. John Brady of Louisiana State is on the list, but may not be at the top of the hunt.

    I'd rather get turned down than not having asked in the first place.

    God I hope they aren't serious about Brady.

    Differant situation. Williams was at a tradition rich school while Calimari is basically a slut.

    Difference is the whole situation at State right now is a joke. Had a decent to good coach, ran him off, and now you're having a hard time getting a replacement.

    And your current coach just won a championship with the players of his predecessor. Didn't know 'til you tried, right?

    And I don't see how it's a joke, just because two big-named coaches have turned them down. It's not like either one said 'No thanks' as soon as they were contacted.
