Only article I ever read of his was about Dale Earnhardt Jr. right after he won the Winston his rookie season. He absolutely tore the poor kid to shreds and made him sound like the dumbest redneck loser you have ever heard of. I had no real liking or interest in Dale at the time nor do I now but I felt sorry for him. I couldn't see any reason for that writer to do what he did other then he must not have liked racing.

I liked him. I didn't always agree with him, but I liked his stuff. In that article - was he asking why Jr. had been annointed as teh next big thing?

I dont even think it was an interview. All he did was take a few things Jr. said about how he liked to play video games and the trailer he lived in on his dad's land when he turned 18. Seemed like he was trying to degrade him and compare him to white trash.

I was never a C. Jemal fan, but I have to say when he first got to Indy and wrote that column about Charlotte, he and I emailed back and forth several times, and he never backed down or tried to give in. I'll give him some credit for that, I reckon.

Wow, I actually still had the email he sent me back. Evidently it was a George and Ray thing.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give me your thoughts. I
    greatly
    appreciate that.
I can understand how you feel about the Charlote-Ray-George-arena
situation. Really, I can. But I admit to having a hard time not feeling
    as
if the city turned its back on the players in the process of protesting
George and Ray. But that's just my opinion, which, is no better and
deserves no more merit than yours.
I do miss Charlotte, though. I miss it like crazy. But this move to
    Indy
was better for me, my family and my career. It was a tough decision
    because
I'm a North Carolina guy. But in the end, I had to do it. Whatever
    happens
with Charlotte and the NBA, I wish the city all the best. I wish you
    all
    the best, too, Adam.
By the way, I stopped wearing the bowtie when I got here. It marked
    the
first time in my five years as a columnist that I didn't wear it. But I
started to feel it was a little too formal.
    Take care.
    JEMAL
