Buying a Used Car

With talk of the recession, if I can afford to wait a few months before buying a new (used) car, should I? Will prices drop as people are spending less?

 

Not so sure. More people may not be able to buy new cars and thus settle for used cars. This may drive up demand and increase prices for used cars. If things get bad enough nobody will be able to buy any cars and thus increase supply and decrease prices. Don't think that second scenario will occur though.

 

If you have to finance, the cost of the money dropped by about 20% this month.

 

Like during the Clinton recession I expect to see a great many 0% offers

 

Which hurts banks. More of what they don't need.

 

Never buy a car used or new. It is always a rip off. Get a moped or just walk.
