No way Baddour was ever going to offer him the job anyway. You don't hire Neinas to get someone like Kragthorpe. For better or worse, they're going to want a recognizeable name.

Agreed he was pretty far down my list. Jimbo Fisher is someone I think there's a legit chance for.

IMO the #1 target is Butch Davis. #2 is Rich Rodriguez, after that is gets thin. I think Krag was in there, but rated behind Fisher and Navy's Paul Johnson, and a few others. I think Krag was a fallback possibility only due to this. Not that he's less of a coach, but he's West Coast so has few East Coast recruiting contacts, and will probably bolt if the ASU job comes open.

What I really find odd is while I don't expcet Rodriguez to leave WVU, he didn't exactly say no when it was mentioned. Kinda shocked me because he's a WVU grad.

My guess is though he's jockeying for a bigger contract.

No I don't. I just remember all the coaches coming out and saying they weren't interested in the State job. They all kinda got bunched in the 'turned them down' category. Same thing applies here. I kinda doubt the search would last too long past November, though.

If UNC does hire a quality head coach NC State fans will be pissed because they would have wanted him also.

NCSU is perfectly content with their shitty coach.
