Got jacked up in that collision verses the Marlins. People are talking rule changes but really how could you do it. Shoulder to chest huts have happened for years

 

I don't think any major changes are required. It's truly part of the game but I could see a rule to invoke if an umpire thinks that the baserunner is trying to injure another player.

 

As long as the runner doesn't go out of his way to slam into the catcher, I don't know what you can do. Don't block the path to the plate or any other base if you don't want to get hit.

From what I've read they want only a slide rule enforced, be it feet first or hands. They want to keep the catchers from becoming tackle dummies. All other bases are handled this way with the pnly difference the catcher is down low verses up like a second baseman. I guess I could see this
