In the NFL, unless you're someone else's head coach, the original team either has to settle or pay the balance of the contract - so, for instance, if Chesty made $100,000 this year from FSU and NCSU would've paid him $500,000, they'd still have to cut him a check for $400,000 to work for someone else.

That seems a more fair way of handling contracts than "you can't work", if that's how college handles it.

 

Believe it has something to do with a "competition" clause.......Moving within the conference.....
