*Wallace enjoyed his best NFL campaign in 1998 with the Eagles while playing under the tutelage of current Panthers Defensive Line coach Mike Trgovac.

yep. That's why we grabbed him.

The next year he broke an ankle, and faded away....

Smith and Wallace will give us some quality off the bench if nothing else. This was an all round smart move, probably one of the best in Panthers history if not the best?

well I certainly wouldnt' go that far with it. It's not like we got Hugh Douglas out of the deal. We got, hopefully, a situational rusher. the 4th round pick is the good stuff.

That's what I was getting at. Sure, it's no blockbuster deal, but when else have we gotten something for nothing? It's a sad statement, but I really can't think of a better trade the Panthers have been involved in. Almost everything has been FA signings in the past and a majority of them weren't worth a shit.

    Yep.

    I'll say again:

The fins have paid big bucks for 2 guys that were only borderline starters for our 1-15 team last year. They will both be starters for the fins.

    Either:
1 - The fins are stupid
2 - Marshall and Seifert's schemes just didn't work at all.

Makes me think our talent level might be better than we're getting credit for.

The question is will Peppers and a 4th round be as good as J Williams? The answer is if Peppers don't hold out, HELL YEAH

I just saw this at ESPN and got rather excited and see once again that it's been hashed and rehashed already. :)

Suffice it to say I'm happy we did this.

    wow

    I like Fox. He's smart.

All the time Miami was licking their chops when we was about to cut him lose, then all of a sudden, talks ended. I can only assume a deal was close then.

Again, we've gone with what we know as far as Wallace, but that's ok, a good back up, that's what we wanted. A 4th round pick? Damn.

A forth is good, but most likely a late round 4th. We're not looking at a sure fire impact player, but certainly something to add to another pick if we wanted to move up.

What is the cap hit for Wallace?
