According to the disturber, Pro Bowl Linebacker Keith Brookind IDied the lowly Panthers as an up an coming team in the NFL. Great defense, good coach, 6 more wins, yada yada yada.

He also happens to be a Free Agent. And he can also play, and has played, every linebacking position. He's a natural fit weakside, which is basically the same position as the weakside ILB in a 3/4.

Imagine a lineup of Fields, Morgan, and Brooking. And if Morgan gets hurt, he can easily fill his shoes and we can bring WW in.

Hey, we got the cap money. Who says we spend it all on O?

I do. It's a nice thought, and we'd have the best linebacking corps in the league by a good margin, but I'd trade that for about 20 more touchdowns this year and 5 more wins.

considering the lbs are a pretty solid group, it would make more sense to spend that kind of money elsewhere filling other needs. What a pro-bowl LB make these days anyways?

I bet Brookings could get between $2.5 and $3 million a year if a team is desperate enough.
