    Nutty.

Bright never played on Special Teams, either did he?

I wonder how Byrd is. I'm not thrilled about seeing Hankton as WR again.

  3. I kind of figured that this might happen. The team is looking for a spark in the passing game and they went ahead and made a move. Black was a guy that I thought would make the team is August but he didnt. Hopefully Black will be more reliable than Bright.

His numbers aren't that impressive for a guy comin out of a AA school:

"Black (6-0, 190) attended training camp with Carolina before being waived in the final cutdown and signed to the Panthers practice squad. He posted three receptions for 43 yards with a long of 19 for Carolina in the preseason. The undrafted rookie free agent from Northwestern State (LA) ranked third in school history with 90 receptions and 1,731 receiving yards. As a senior in 2001, Black caught 39 passes for a team-leading 722 yards and set a school record with 13 receptions for 222 yards in a Division I-AA playoff game against Montana."

Sure hope Fox and co. know what they're doing. Bright had uncommon speed.

Well, you either get it done or we'll get someone else in here to try. The staff isn't afraid to make changes.

I liked both Bright and Black in preseason, but not as our third receiver. It was definitely a costly couple drops for Mr. Bright.

I hope they're able to land Bright back on the practice squad.

He was on it last year, so I don't think he's eligible.

According to the Gast-Gazette both Bright and Franklin will be resigned to the practice squad today or Monday.

I think you have three years of eligibility on the P-squad, unless that has changed since '97?
Would have liked to see Bright get one more game, but with the injuries, we need someone to step it up and make the easy plays. I guess not even steping it up, just do it.
Bright had to have the jitters getting into his first NFL game.

Cool. Hopefully they can hone their skills, and become highly underpaid supertstars.

Hmm. Think this means that Deke Cooper is hot shit?
