<<He's a reject, a second. He's been a consistent problem for 2 years. No way do I pay full price.>> posted meat

damn straight. he was looking good, but he never delivered to the kind of potential shanahan expects. griese has not proven anything for 2 years now. that is true.

here is another rumor: he got beat up by one of his team mates for mouthing off! yeah, this was recent. of course they hushed it up here. shanahan knows he's been deficient in the "leadership" part of his job. just too bad, cuz he can play ball, like y2 said. however, QB position requires some leadership and respect of team. he has to earn that respect. doubt if he has.

i liked griese. till of late. tried to draft him on my fant football, for trading purposes...good thing i didnt.

A second chance player should only get second chance pay. I'd take him for two years 2 mill and 1 mill signing bonus. Escalate it to 3 years 4 mill if he earns and holds the starting job after the first year.

C'mon now, you guys want to whine about lets see, Plummer or Peete, Crydell or Peete, or how about King, no wait King sucks now, then you get a look at a real QB and you don't want to pay him because he's not perfect in some other way. The picken's is slim and there ain't much out there.

You want to win some games or not?

You don't want to pay Warner or Greise You don't want Plummer, Kordell, or King. You don't want to trade up for Palmer, Leftwich, McGahee or Banks. You don't want to keep Peete, Weinke, or Fasani. We're running out of options people.

All I know is every since Jeff George and Antonio Freeman got their timimg down, I been kicking some ass on PS2. Eric Zeier was whooping some butt too, but he's out six weeks. Oh yea, did I tell you I was able to keep Moose & S.Smith and still sign R.Watters, M.Westbrook and Willie Jackson as well?

i think i saw on espn that the problem griese's teammates have with him is that he just doesn't show any emotion, good or bad. doesn't seem like he give a crap either way if they win or lose. do i want to see him in a panther uniform? i don't know. we need someone im not sure who.

According to ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli, the Denver Broncos appear to be ready to cut loose QB Brian Griese this off-season, despite the salary cap ramifications. "I don't think there's any question," said one Denver veteran on offense, "that Brian won't be back (in 2003)." His teammates are not enamored with his off-field behavior and many of his excesses. It took coach Mike Shanahan and owner Pat Bowlen a bit longer, apparently, but they have seemingly reached the conclusion now that Griese is a liability. If the Broncos traded Griese, no matter the timing, they would absorb the full salary cap hit of $9.26 million.

Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com if the Denver Broncos cut loose QB Brian Griese this off-season, two names they could pursue are QBs Jake Plummer (free agent) or Kordell Stewart (trade).

I guess that decreases or chances of getting a QB in the 2nd round with another team likely to take a QB in the 1st. Plummer or Kordell has got to be just for a back-up. Bline will likely retire.

(What is it about QB's who like to drink when Bline is the back-up?)

Maybe Stevie B. is buying the rounds?

shuddup. i love bline! he sure tries hard, i love that about him. plus the broncos respect him. wish he was a better qb, tho. :(

obtw, griese's problems been there even before bline got to denver. bline shoulda just taken the packers offer that year. the packers wanted him bad, i remember. he opted for denver instead.

    His "excesses"?

Who's wife did he do in the pooper?

I don't recall anyone on the team having a problem with Collins, he was well liked by his team...for the most part. Many commented after the fact, but never had tones of dislike compared to what is coming out of Denver?
