I didn't get to see the game tonight, but I just got through reading about it. I don't pretend to be an expert on GB, the only game I've followed was the Panther game(oh god there went a flashback!!). All I know is Brett Favre is a damn god. They have been fighting injuries almost as bad as we have been and somehow or another they are sitting at 7-1. He's the best QB since some guy named Montana, Marino be damned.

    Marino doesn't come close.

He keeps this up, you could start talking about "The Greatest."

Marino's records are not out of reach. I could easily see the Packers in the Super Bowl this year.

He was very good, looks like he played during his Super Bowl/MVP years. And who knew that Donald Driver was that good. He made Sam Madision look silly.

He was not very good. He was 16 of 25 for 187 yards and one pick. His rating was 83.2. (His season mark is 102.) He had an average game, for Favre. The Dolphins were appallingly bad. Bunch of gutless, overrated softies.

    DAMN IT.

    Cochitin, you're insane.

Favre has become my all time favorite player this year. I'm lucky to be able to watch him play.

He's awesome. It's a bit depressing to watch him play, and then watch the Panthers.

All time great QB....shitty QBs. My kingdom for an average QB.

That's the only time I've been happy for a guy that beat the Panthers. When he got smacked all day by Rucker, and then the interference flag, and he smacked it right back to Rucker.

Not happy for the team losing, but happy to watch Favre do it.

I think one more superbowl appearance puts him past Elway (if he's not already) and up close to Unitas and Montana. It's crazy shit to think he's within a few yards of Montana already.

Speaking of all-time things like that, why was there never that big a deal made about Jerry Rice obliterating every receiving record ever? Emmitt hobbles for two years to barely get 60 yards a game to eclipse Sweetness by what looks like it'll be a few hundred yards, and that calling collect pitchman all but gets knighted by the press. Rice is easily the greatest receiver, ever. No one else really comes that close to him. And yet most of the elder spokesmen in the NFL media don't rate Emmitt as the best.

I'm biased - I liked Barry Sanders - and if he had gotten the record (easily within his reach) he probably would have been the greatest ever, or one of the top three at the least. Emmitt getting that record doesn't impress me at all.

i'm sorry but the best rb ever was earl campbell

  9. Sweetness was the best ever. I didn't get to see Jim Brown "live", but he looked like a man playing with boys most games. Earl was a load, but did he ever get 100 yards in a game against the Steelers? Sanders was great, and I liked Billy Sims before him. Emmitt was tough when he was younger, but they're giving him points for longevity.

At WR, Rice is the man - but my boys Swann & Stallworth were nothing to sneeze at.
    :D

Jim Brown and Payton are, to me, very close. Both eclipse Emmitt by a lot.

To me, Campbell is around where Thurman Thomas is. Both top ten guys.

True, both Swann and Stallworth are great receivers. I don't think Chris Carter comes that close to them, or Reed, or Lofton, but I guess all will go to the Hall.
