Shit or get off the pot. Saturday is the deadline that the Packers have set for him to make up his mind about retiring. I guess they don't want to miss out on signing Kerry Collins

The way I understand it, it's not a hard deadline.

The Packers are going to suck this year whether Favre plays or not. They might as well get on with it and find out what they have in Rodgers.

    :agreed:

I do think Rogers is going to be average at best though, so I am sure they want Favre to play.

Even if you think you can squeeze one more good year out of Favre why would you. At best he will keep them in contention for a wildcard and that is if he has a really good year. They are not going to win a title so all they would be doing is messing up their position in the draft. I would rather go with Rodgers and see if he is the future or not. Then next year they either have the future on the roster or they are in a position to draft a guy that can be.

I am starting to lose all my respect for Favre. He was all over Walker last year for hurting the team but now he is stringing them out and hurting the team. I think he hopes they will cut him so he can play somewhere else that has a chance to win. Either that or he wants them to have to cut him so the fans will hate management.

Rodgers is the second coming of Lynn Dickey...which isn't good.

You are dead on brother! I have been a Packers fan for 27 years.
Rodgers cannot get it done. That is why Green Bay wants to know.
If Favre retires then look for Green Bay to try to get Cutler. That's why they want to know. Green Bay was lucky to resign Henderson. At least now they have 3 running backs.
If Favre goes, look for Green Bay to take Cutler, if available.
If Favre stays look for them to take Hawk from Ohio State and sign a free agent QB as a backup and the short term future (3 years). This is the best scenario. Collins or Harrington is a good bet.
I personally think Rodgers will never throw another pass for Green Bay. He will quietly disappear into NFL Europe and not be heard from again.
Regardless of what people think, Favre is the best QB of the 90's and into the 2000's. Period. Troy Aikman fans spare me a rebuttal please. If Favre had been in Dallas, or San Fran for that matter, he would have 5-6 rings.
Favre is still better than a lot of QB's that some teams are killing themselves to get at............ Culpepper comes to mind.
Personally, I think Griese would fit good in GB.
    Just an opinion.
