    $7.3 Million to start Div-1AA football in 4 years (2012) . . . .

Next, the Chancellor has to sign off on the report and then the board of Trustees must vote to start football . . . . . No word about where a stadium would go and when one would get built.

THE BOTTOM LINE: With us starting football, could we try and get into a larger conference even though we play hoops & football in different conference (i.e. GEORGETOWN plays in Div 3 football, but play in the BIG EAST for hoops)?

I honestly believe Lutz could coach football and basketball at the same time.

Instead of adding football, why not just get rid of everything else? Hell, I enjoyed my time at UNCC, but it's not like their athletic programs affected me in any way and I'm a huge sports fan. I can't even imagine how completely irrelevant they are to most students.

It looks liek the schools in the Atlantic-10 with football programs play in various leagues:

Colonial Atheletic Association - UMass., Richmond, Rhode Island.
    Patriot League - Fordham
    Pioneer League - Dayton
MAAC - Duquesne and La Salle
    Mid-American - Temple

Temple is the only I-A, the others are I-AA.

There is quite a bit of debate over what conference we would go to or if we would remain independant. The idea is to only be I-AA for 4 years.

Knowing UNCC, they'll wanna play in the SoCon so they dont have to drive far for their games. But that's cool, Appalachian will welcome them into Division I-AA very properly with a beatdown at The Rock.

You can't be a division 1 scholl and compete below that division in any sport. We would have to be 1 AA to start.
