Atlanta is set to get Farnsworth from Detroit and send them Romoan Colon and Zach Miner.

It looks like the Braves will have a decent closer now and can move Reitsma to setup man, or the other way around.

I would keep Reitsma as the closer until signs of breaking down...

i love this deal. he throws as hard as anyone and has some wicked break. he has just needed good coaching all along. leo could make this kid an all-star.

well he sure looked like crap today, entering the game vs. the cardinals with a two run lead in the 9th and promptly loaded the bases and then gave up a grand slam to eckstein to end it...........good lord. farnsworth gave up a homerun to pujols in the bottom of the 8th earlier. this bull pen has 0 chance of closing out a good hitting team if and when the post season begins. another choke job by the braves. they make me sick.

Farnsworth has had trouble with Pujols and the Cards. Then again, a lot of pitchers have had trouble with them. Farnsworth's pitch was lower outside part of the plate, Pujols drove it to center. I don't know why he threw him a fastball. The previous pitch was a slider that made Pujols look silly.

    Reitsma looked horrible.

if the worst thing farnsworth does is make a decent pitch to pujols that shouldn't be hit out and the wonder kid crushes it like only he can do, then i'll really like this deal. a homer to pujols isn't even really a bad thing.

another blown save for reitsma. he enters the game with one on, one gone and a one run lead in the 9th. a gapper by alfonso and a fielders choice tied it. another base hit, then the boo's rain down......the giants are 1-53 when trailing after 8 innings. we have no closer.

oh, and smoltz goes 8.1 innings and gets nothing to show for it.
