Would it be wrong of me to hope the Braves never win another game?

Ok, I finally got what you meant. You weren't saying that the Braves would win 4 games, you were saying that the Braves would win the series in 4 games or in a sweep.

    Duh, I feel stupid. :D

congrats to the cubbies. you got your 1 masterful pitching performance outta the way. every team has 1 of those per series. now, getting a 2nd is the tough part. as for me, i'm not worried yet. no way the cubs get another performance like that. oh, and they still have no offense. it took a 2 run double by the pitcher.

This is the national league, right? Pitchers get to bat too, right?
I would think that pitchers shouldn't actually be automatic outs and that they're actually allowed to hit the ball.

Our PITCHER hit a two run double - the same amount of runs that the vaunted Braves offense scored in the first game. If you say that the Cubs have no offense, how would you have characterized the Braves offense?

    :D

What's pretty amazing is the Javy's stats are over 129 games. Projected over 162 games I think he would have 54Hrs and 137RBI's.

Yep, Javy has had a tremendous career year. His number have shot up big time this year.

I wonder if the Braves will be able to keep him. The announcers were mentioning during the broadcast that they will not be able to afford to resign him.

Well it is a career year by far, but it's not consistant with him, so if he can be had for a decent price that's one thing, but I wouldn't over pay because he does have a few years on him now.

Then again, are there really that many catchers who can hit? Plus he does call a pretty good game now.

the good discussions have been few and far between around here this season...

last night was a little surprising that the braves got a big hit late in the ballgame to win it. you have to give Derosa some credit...that was a tough pitch he hit.

with prior on the mound, the braves have their hands full tomorow. i love a good pitching dual, so it'll be fun to watch that one with him and maddux going at it.

funny thing though...there were articles in the boston globe and the ny post today about how the cubs fans took over turner field this week. smoltz refused to comment on it...but you could tell that he was not happy about having to deal with the opposing fans in his own stadium. the home field advantage will play a factor this weekend up in chi-town. it will be important for the braves to get early runs and good pitching to keep them at bay.
