yeah I think the only gun I would ever own was one that had sentimental value or one that was a true collectors piece under glass. I've shot plenty and its alot of fun but I don't hunt and little kids and guns just don't mix. And if somebody breaks into my house for my TV I sure ain't shooting him in the back for it.

Thats why they sell homeowners insurance. ;)

If I keep this up we can have a nice gun rights controversy for a few weeks.

All we need is a gun nut.

WilliamJ where are you? ;) :p

I`ve had guns since I was 10, its natural when living on a farm. Now I just keep them in case Canada invades.

I agree the movie was thought-provoking and interesting, although I disagree with its overall attitude of, "Boo Hoo, America is Bad." While Moore pointed to guns as the chief factor in causing our disporportionate level of violent crime, he didn't seem to take into account the role of illegal drugs and organized crime. I don't have any "stats" in front of me, but my understanding is that a majority, or at least a large amount of the gunplay and murder in urban areas is in some way related to one of those two things.

The cartoon "History of America" was way over the top and exaggerated, but made some funny points. Also worth watching is Moore's brief talk with Marilyn Manson. :D But what was up with the whole "buying all the bullets from KMart" bit? Look at the two kids; they look like they don't know why they're they're there. Clearly, the campaign to yank the ammo out of KMart was Moore's baby, not the gun victims'.

Biased, yes. Interesting, yes. Michael Moore is not my main man, but he makes his points and makes you think. I just got a kick out of seeing Dick Clark acting like a real dick. I'll never look at New Year's Rockin' Eve the same way again.
