I thought that they were good flicks, and I think Damon is great in pretty much every role he takes on, but I didn't like that they switched chicks in the second one and that it strays so far from the books.

I really liked the first one. I wanted to like the second one, but the cinematography was the most horrid POS I have ever seen. It was shakier than 'Blair Witch', and for no good reason that I can fathom.

"edgier/more realistic" style by the director.

It really didn't bother me. In fact, I think it worked on me. Gave me the illusion of the frantic and semi-confused pace of the movie - especially the scenes where Bourne was on the run. Helped put you in his environment.

The first movie was the opposite in style in some key scenes, like when he blew the sniper away with a shotgun - lots of wide angle, detached views of that encounter. Makes it feel cold, impersonal, which is the nature of the killers, so that works too.

Helped me reach for the Excedrin bottle. Gave me a serious headache.
