Being the serious body builder how strict are you on your food intake and how often do you eat?

I'm don't do the classic training phase and cutting phase so my gains take a lot longer. If I put on 10 pounds per year, that is a lot.

This generally what I've been doing for the past few of months:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - low carb days , one HIIT cardio session, one low intensity. Generally have a low carb protein bar or drink every 2-3 hours. I really don't have that much fat either....usually NY strip steaks that I cut off extra fat, ground sirloin, chicken breast, or some other lean meat for dinner....at the most I have 50 grams of carbs per day.

Thursday - Weight Training. I do three weight training workouts...morning, during lunch, and then in the evening doing the whole upper body. I still eat the low carb protein bar or drink every 2-3 hours but I've recently added taking about 50 carbs before a session and 25 carbs/with 50 grams of protein afterwords...which has worked well. I still eat the lean meats/poultry listed above but I add salads and other vegatables for dinner.

Friday - Weight Training. Legs in the morning, abs/lower back in the afternoon. Starting on Friday I really only keep track of protein intake...at least 300 grams...I eat whatever I want within reason, except for desserts and stuff like that.

Saturday - HIIT cardio....two sessions about 80 minutes total including warmup and cool down...anything goes diet wise, just keep track of protein.

Sunday - Rest - anything goes diet wise including desserts.

This takes longer because the only days that growth takes place is Friday, Saturday and Sunday...the trade off is that I don't put on 20 pounds of fat like the classic training phase would do. Any fat I put on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is gone by Wednesday.

    interesting.....

i did not realize your only weight training days were thursday and friday. how long have you been on this schedule?

do you not find that the bars have too much fat, or does that not bother you?

I've been doing it for a few years...with the exception of the morning workouts...i just recenetly started that. I've found that I'm significantly stronger in the morning.

nah, the fat doesn't bother me...the EAS Advantage Carb control only has 5 or 6 grams...so does the Detout, UTurn, and Oneway bars.
