    He does. But there is no penalty for it, so if you want to beat him, do something to negate his advantage. If you choose not to, then its on your shoulders.

    can't the refs call a do over and make someone else take the faceoff? I've seen them do that before although they never really explain why

    they can kick an offending player out of the faceoff, and occassionally, if the linesman feels it was unfair, they can re-draw, and force someone else to take it, but, thi sis hockey. quit bein a wuss, and fight the fight.
