Bonds and Cooperstown

It appears this publicity nutjob that has Bond's recording breaking homerun baseball is going to brand the ball with an asterisk and present it to the Hall of Fame. Question, should the Hall accept the ball?

Although I don't believe in the integrity of the record, I don't think the ball should be branded.

 

looks like its a done deal. i listened to some guy on the radio yesterday who is supposedly in charge of the decision to allow asterisk ball. he said it would be on the grounds that it reflected the sentiment of the fans at the time. kinda like a historical record sort of thing. im sure we'll hear more about this if it does go down. it may take a back seat to Vick and the Jena 6 for now but it will come.

 

I guess they could just position the ball in the case so you couldn't see the asterisk. That would be an easy solution assuming there is only one asterisk on the ball.

 

I love it. Screw Bonds. That asterisk tells more about the history of his chase than the ball by itself ever will.
