    Well, yeah, a bank analyst will see it that way since there will now be no increased income and thus the stock won't jump, etc.

    It's clearly capitalism at work as competitive forces pretty much forced BofA to cancel the fee. I mean if no other banks did the fee BofA would be at a clear market disadvantage. BofA could care less what some lobbied congressman said, it was the threat of losing customers to banks without the fee that caused the bank to cancel the fee.

    Yeah...I'm pretty sure that Bank of America didn't need government approval to charge that $5 fee.
