If he had full control he might get a lot more interested. Remember he tried to buy the Hornets too and Shinn would not sell. If his goal was to be the majority owner than it would not make sense for him to shoot his marketing wad too soon.

Another reason to hate Shinn..... He took one of the best NBA markets and ruined it so bad it still sucks several years after he left.

Bleh, I hate Big Baby. Throw in his off-season issues and I'm really hoping this trade doesn't come through.

I don't know what anyone would see in a fat, short, not particularly athletic player like Davis. He's got a decent shot but I think DJ still has a much higher ceiling.

At least he is a big body that we can throw into the rotation. I would like to get more than that for DJ though.

It's not just Shin that killed the market. NBA ratings are half of what they are overall from 10 years ago. For whatever reason, the NBA has simply fallen out of favor.

The NBA shifted focus away from teams and put it on star players like Jordan, Magic, Bird etc. The problem came when those guys all retired there was no one to step up and take their place. Certainly Kobe and Lebron are very talented players but are not as charismatic as the guys that came before.

The NBA needs to get back to the team concept and go away from the focus on individuals.

Im sure LBrown wants Rasheed more than Glen Davis.

    anyway,from the Globe:
Because Davis just signed a contract extension last summer, he is a base-year compensation player, meaning the Celtics could take back only half of the $3 million Davis earns this season. The Celtics would have to include another player in the deal because Augustin earns $2.37 million in the second year of his rookie contract
