The network will be carried by Time Warner Cable in the Carolinas on its digital-service tier. Time Warner reaches 1.5 million cable households in the Carolinas, with 600,000 subscribing to digital cable.

Naomi Travers, who will run the Charlotte-based network, says talks are under way with additional cable operators, including Adelphia, Comcast and Cox, to carry C-SET.

Time Warner Cable will not charge subscribers an additional fee when the network launches in October. Programming on C-SET will include 60 NBA Bobcats games, 15 WNBA Sting games, a daily sports-news show, entertainment and a variety of regional college and minor league sports teams.
