Rashard Lewis just signed a 5 year max contract for somewhere between 75 and 85 million.

    Repeat after me:

"The Jason Richardson trade was absolutely brilliant"

That just validates the Richardson trade. Richardson is better than Lewis in my estimation and we got a cheaper deal.

I'd love to see them go after Darko after locking up Wallace....

If we can keep Wallace for the 10-12 million dollar range it would be nice.
I wanted to lock up wallace for aroun 8-9 million last time and thought that we would end up getting stung by not over-spending a little at the time in order to lock him up long term....

Also there was a question about the trade exception earlier in the thread about the trade exception and how they rec'd..

A trade exception happens in the NBA when a player is traded and the team that trades the player doesn't recieve equal salaries in return. (The exception that GS rec's is valid for 1 year and is equal to J-Rich's salary minus the rookie salary that B.Wright is slotted for)

In the NBA the salaries have to match or atleast be within a certain % in order to be allowed to make a trade.... The Bobcats-Warriors trade didn't have to match because the Bobcats had enough salary cap space to absorb the contract.

They need to lock up Wallace and Carroll if they are serious about making the playoffs. Losing Wallace would be a big setback to the franchise. Carroll came through last year and was a real find. Can't let guys like that get away.
I also wouldn't mind seeing them pick up Steve Blake (FA) to back up the PG position. I think he would do a much better job of it than McInnis. All in all, they still have a shot at the playoffs because virtually every team in the Eastern conference sucks. Making the playoffs there really doesn't take or say much to be honest..

If they get Wallace back I think they could have a good year. They would have likely made the playoffs this past year if not for all the injuries. Add Richardson to that mix and you have a team that can do well in the east.
