I don't recall that many "OMG WHAT ARE YOU DOING" moments... One where Okafor passed the ball to House where he thought EH was going to be and we turned it over, but that's about it. There were a couple defensive breakdowns, but nothing that experience won't fix.

This is a good team in the making. Needs a go-to guy who can create his own shot (Chris Paul?) but they have most of the pieces...

was it house or bogans? anyway, i put that on the guy catching the ball. it was a bad pass, but the guy took his eye off the ball and was already starting to make his move before catching it. at least, that's my take.

yeah, they seem to be playing well and not making bad plays. cept that might look a whole lot different if they didn't hit the shots they're taking. i mean, eddie house goes absolutely crazy at times and when they're going in you can cheer, but when they start to miss, you'll want to throttle the guy for taking such quick shots.

Cleveland offered half market value. I would have screwed them too.

cleveland didn't exercise their option. they were going to (and would have paid him something like $900k for the last year of his contract). instead, they decided to waive their option and make him a restricted free agent so they could pay him more and, yeah, probably lock him in for less than if he was to become an unrestricted free agent the next year. but it would have been a win-win situation. boozer gets his $$ earlier and avoids the potential for a career ending injury preventing him from ever making the big $$. the cavs get their young PF under contract long term. instead, he took their incredibly generous gesture and said fuck you -- i'm outa here.

i think he's also being somewhat short-sighted because the benefits of playing next to lebron james in cleveland for the next 10 years would probably far outweigh the benefits of playing next to andrei kirilenko in utah (no matter how much of a stud the guy is, he's not a big name).

oh well. the cavs got drew gooden to replace him and they seem to have him playing well.

Boozer would have held out had they excersized the option. They tried to come on the cheap on it failed. Boozer saw the writing on the wall. It was Lebron's team even if he outperformed him. In Utah he can be the BMOC.

Although Boozer and his agent have already secured the six-year offer with the Utah Jazz, those negotiations were conducted under a cloud of supposed promises and possible betrayals that has still not fully cleared. According to team sources, Pelinka, Boozer and Boozer's wife, CeCe, convinced Cleveland owner Gordon Gund and GM Jim Paxson to forgo a team option that would have paid Boozer $695,000 next season, thus making the improving forward a restricted free agent this summer. Had Cleveland held Boozer to his original contract, the Cavaliers could have matched any offer to him as a third-year free agent next summer.

Instead, Gund agreed to set Boozer free with the understanding that Boozer would sign a long-term deal with Cleveland. Because the Cavs are over the league's salary cap, the most they could offer Boozer this summer was a six-year contract for $41 million. The Cavs say that no illegal under-the-table offer was made to Boozer because it was understood that the NBA's collective bargaining agreement prohibited the team from paying more than $41 million.

According to a source who participated in the meeting when the Cavaliers decided to allow him to become a free agent, Boozer told Gund, "If you respect me by not picking up the option, I'll show trust and loyalty to you by signing with you." As a matter of common sense and, say team sources, the Cavaliers never would have relinquished their long-term rights to Boozer unless he made it clear that he would re-sign with them.

Word around the NBA is that Boozer has refused to take phone calls from his former coach at Duke, Mike Krzyzewski. "That's because he doesn't want to hear Mike telling him not to do this," a league source says.
