I just realized that I haven't watched 1 second of a live Bobcats game and have stopped following their record for the most part. The local media deosn't seem interested either. It seems like you have to go out of your way to care about them.

definately true. I've had a bobcats site for over a year and for a long time I was updating the news, etc but figured "what's the point - nobody cares." I've even found myself watching other things even with the Bobcats are on WJZY.

They've made a huge mistake by having it so exclusive on CSET that it's put most sports fans out (most sports fans have DirecTV rather than the over-priced Digital Cable).

They don't seem to do any marketing down here in the Greenville area. I know this may not be a smart move in some ways, but if they can find a way to get some of the players from the big 4 schools in NC via draft/free agency, that maybe would help.

Also, if not this route, the player they draft this year really needs to be a player they can market, to somehow put a face on this team, of course not sure if any of these players will be in the draft this year or not.

Everybody knows who Cleveland is win or lose since they have James now.

They are going to draft Chris "SpeedBag" Paul and I will lose even more interest.

There is no interest because everyone with a brain knows the assholes are overpaid thugs. If you want to watch 18 year olds play basketball I reccommend:

    1. Any local high school
    2. Davidson
    3. UNCC
    4. JC Smith

Are you kidding me? This is the NBA man! The best basketball players on Earth right here in Charlotte! And next year we move into an AWESOME uptown arena. Wait. Nope. Still don't give a shit.....

I am 100 percent against us building an arena for a freakin' billionaire, but once the Bobcats are uptown, I'll probably be at half of the home games.

    They've got a couple problems:

We've got a scrappy, clean team, but they suck.
There's nobody to pull in the fans.
Nobody can watch them on TV
Nobody knows how to find them on the Radio.

I think the arena uptown will help a lot, turning it more into a social event. but a couple years down the road, they are going to need a quality team and an exciting player to bring people in.

I think the Bobcats are about 5 years away from anyone giving a damn. The Whorenuts ripped a lot of fans heart away from the game and that hurt bad.

Also the NBA game as a whole sucks, but I think installing the new age limit could help that.

I don't see how Bob Johnson could even begin to think for a second that putting a team on a Cable access channel that not even 30% of cable's viewers can access is going to get them attention. CSET should've been basic cable. Maybe moved to a Digital tier later, but to get people interested it should've started out basic. Deals should have been struck with DirecTV and Dish before the season started as well. They are on some unknown radio station that plays oldies and then they play hip hop at games. On top of that they are expecting everyone to pay huge ticket prices next year to watch a team they don't know. You need to give the team an identity and if they can't watch or listen to the team how in the hell are they supposed to connect. They entire team marketing strategy has failed miserably there.

I have CSET and I still have a hard time watching the games. I often flip channels when they are on. and I used to be a diehard Hornets fan (watched almost every game). fact is the Bobcats suck. thats it. they are painful to watch because nobody can shoot/score when they really need it. they are scrappy but they cant come back on teams. also they are actually easier to watch on the road because the Charlotte Coliseum brings back many good and bad memories. they need a fresh start in the new arena. Im sure that when they move downtown, it will be better. at the very least , in true Charlotte style, it will be the thing to do for a while and should generate some interest.
