Agreed. Fans want to remember the final two seasons of the Hornets fondly in retrospect since they were pretty decent on the court, but the fans had long since abandoned them. Sure, they came back for the Miami playoff series, and were rocking like the old days against Milwaukee, but their last year against the Nets the building was still half-empty in the playoffs. It was pretty sad if you're one of the fans who still remembers their first Sunday game on NBC against the Bulls.

    It was maybe 75% full.

I was in the stands for the final home game vs the Net in the playoffs. Maybe 1/4 of the seats were filled, and midway through the 3rd quarter people were chanting "George Shinn Sucks"

I don't know how you can blame the fans for not giving a shit about a team who's leaving the next season.

The team left because the fans had stopped giving a shit, although that happened because of earlier actions by Shinn and Woolridge.

    Who's blaming them?

Stating facts is not assigning blame. Blame lies solely with the ownership group.

I was there last night. Looked to be no more than about 4-5K in the stands.

The loudest the arena got all night was when they showed Moose and Ric Flair on the screen.

That's downright depressing when you consider tickets were 1/2 off (although not sure how many knew about that promotion.)

there was more than 4-5k there. it wasnt packed but the box shows 11,000. they played a very good team last night. They got loud when making a run. I swear people expect every game to have the atmosphere of UNC/Duke in Cameron. Sheed was fun to watch. he schooled Okafor, was steady hitting 3's in warm-ups-right and left handed(truly amphibious). late in the game some fans sitting courtside were giving him a hard time and he drilled a 3 right where they were sitting. I swear he looked at them and yelled "bitches" as he ran back down the court. too funny.
