This Sunday thing is being blown WAAAAAY out of proportion. I was there, it was better than usual and on par with most stadiums.

Gee, I don't know. It might have had something to do with that interview he did with the Charlotte Observer last year when he said that this main priority was to make the team a profitable endeavor and that he wouldn't overspend or cut ticket prices to bring in fans if it meant operating at a loss. You honestly don't remember all the furor about those comments?

As bad as the Hornets were last year, they had better pieces in place than anything we have now. Okafor played well as a rookie, and certainly better than I thought he would, but NBA insiders don't view him as much better than Jamal Magloire, and I don't think anyone would rather have Raymond Felton than Baron Davis (since traded to GS). Throw in the questions as to whether or not Sean May will even be a good pro, and there's no reason to be optimistic about the team. May and Felton have major question marks to answer about their pro potential, and that's coming from a huge Carolina fan.

Magloire is viewed as one of the better centers in the league, was elected to the All-Star game, and was supposed to be one of the league's more sought after free agents until the Hornets signed him to an extension prior to last season.

I still don't think that Okafor will be a better C than PF in this league, much less that May's going to be that powerful inside him. I'd have been more excited had they gotten a scorer from somewhere.

Yeah, I was curious to see your link to see which "NBA insiders" were comparing a power forward to a center. I suppose it was just your opinion, which is fine too.

Magloire and Okafor are considered to be similar players, and as such, are sometimes compared to one another. Okafor is a little shorter and lighter, but they're both large defensive specialists with limited (supposedly anyway) offensive potential.

Its pretty simple what's wrong. The Bobcats are making stupid decisions. I think team-wise they are doing a good job at building initial talent and preparing themselves for a run in their 3rd year, but mistakes like having the team play only on digital cable, when very few people have digital, and some don't have cable at all. Also jacking up high ticket prices before you've established a fan base. Those are some stupid business moves plain and simple. The team would be smart early on to have the CHEAPEST ticket prices in the league. Show the games on whatever channel is easily accessible. Build a fan base of people who want to see the games. Which is better selling 15,000 seats at a cheaper price or selling 7,000 at a higher price. Hell it could be made to balance out, and the difference in concession sales would make it better at the cheaper price. Once the people WANT to see the team and care about the team they'll pay a little bit more. You slowly raise the price from that point to get where you want to be in comparison to the rest of the league.
