In fairness to the Bobcats though, their partial season ticket packages just went on sale and there's still a little bit of time left before the season starts, so I'm sure that number will go up at least a little. They also are probably happy that they're at least playing in a building where they might generate walk up sales. I've heard that last season there were multiple games where they sold less than 100 walk up tickets, and I heard that one of the games sold less than 10 walk ups.

Still though, they spent their whole first season basically saying, "Fuck this year, wait til next year when we're at the new arena." And now it looks like that marketing strategy didn't work. Wonder if Bob is gonna realize that you can't make a go at it with idiots running your team?

I'm not black or a businessman but, I've got 2 season tickets. I believe that the final # will be around 10,000 when you include the partial season ticket plan... I think that the tickets are a little high but, I'm gonna give them a chance. I like the effort they play with and they are building the team the right way. If they start winning everybody will jump on the bandwagon....

This city sucks at supporting their team's I've never been as disgusted as I was Sunday when John Kasay kicked the FG to bring the Panthers within 3 points with 6 minutes to go and half 25% of the people got up and left. I was ashamed of the fan base.

This is college basketball country anyways. The majority of us (including me) can't stand the NBA. I loved the article on CBSSPORTSLINE.com a week or two ago about why USA basketball isn't as good as it used to be in the Olympics and it's because once players make the NBA they don't want to improve anymore. The only reason they worked so hard in high school and college was to get to the NBA and make the money. Now that they have the money they don't have the motivation and you can really tell in the quality of play over the past 5-10 years that that is true. It's like that in every sport to an extent but especially in the NBA. That's why I would never buy Bobcats tickets. They'll probably have Kanye West sing the National Anthem on opening night.

There's no question that we are less than supportive now, but it's just as easy to point out that we led the NBA in attendance every single year before Shinn screwed us. That said, there isn't any reason for the Charlotte area to support the NBA. They voted against the arena, they were rightfully pissed about how the NBA played a role in Shinn's shenanigans, Johnson is more concerned with profits than rebuilding an abused fan base, and the team sucks. Sounds like a perfect storm of disadvantages to me.

can't, you cannot say Charlotte fans don't care. We lead the league in attendance (NBA) and will still be doing it had Shinn and the NBA not double-crossed the fans. Our NFL season ticket holders paid for BofA stadium through PSL's. Name another city whose fans paid for the stadium like ours did. NASCAR fans here are the most rabid in the world. In 10 years in the NFL, we have had two non-sellout games. That was during a 1-15 season. We are a good sports town. The only problem is that Charlotte fans hold a grudge. They were fucked up the ass royally by the NBA and Shinn. Now the NBA will have to prove themselves. Or move out. It's their choice.

Haven't seen the Bobcats yet. But then I don't like the NBA. Never really have for that matter. I'd rather watch Pfeiffer play Catawba than the 7th game of the NBA finals. That's just a personal preference though. Somebody must be watching with the salaries they pay out...

Charlotte fans don't care. We lead the league in attendance when it was the only game in town and people weren't going for the right reasons they were going because it was cool. The sellout streak was a hoax aswell because for years the corporations (Duke Power and the Banks) would buy the reamining tickets to keep the "streak" alive. If it was a great sports town we would have the pathetic display the happened at Bof A. Stadium Sunday.

I've got PSL's so I understand how the stadium was built My point is that with 6 minutes to go in the game people were leaving in mass quantities to beat the traffic. I was ashamed of our fans.....

I wish we would have never has the PSL's so real fans could afford to go to the games but, with no PSL's there wouldn't be a team so I guess it's a moot point.
