    News 14 to broadcast Bobcats games

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Bobcats are teaming up with Time Warner Cable to bring basketball fans live action from the court.

    “We were partnered before when we were engaged in another television enterprise, and over the course of the last year, we decided to change direction,” said Bobcats president Ed Tapscott. “Clearly, the first group we thought about to talk about a new television venture for us was Time Warner Cable.”

    News 14 Carolina will broadcast 50 Bobcats games in the Raleigh and Charlotte markets. Time Warner Cable will also broadcast the games in the Greensboro and Columbia, S.C., markets.

    “In the talks we focused in here on News 14 Carolina and we’re delighted to have this as our flagship,” Tapscott said.

    Carol Hevey, executive vice president of Time Warner Cable, says the partnership is exciting because it makes the Bobcats games available to all Time Warner Cable customers as well as enhancing the programming on News 14 Carolina.

    “We’re very excited by this arrangement that we’ve reached because News 14 is available to all our basic level customers in Charlotte as well as Raleigh, so all of our customers will be able to see Bobcats games.

    “To carry the games on News 14, I think, is a great blend of the important local news programming that we do as well as now being able to carry a local sports team of national stature.”

    The schedule of games that will be broadcast on News 14 Carolina has not been finalized.

    The Bobcats open their season Nov. 2 in Chicago and play their first home game Nov. 5 against Boston

    It suck that all games can't be on TV.Back when i was in FL and i was in the Orlando Market i got to see all of the Orlando Magic game on TV.I think all game should on tv act if you going to show just 65games on TV then don't show any of the game on tv

    Not that I would be overly interested in Bobcats games anyway, but what is News 14? I don't think I've ever seen that station before.
