It seems to be pretty bleak for the foreseeable future.
We have assembled a team of specialty players ( Larry Brown / defensive minded) for a coach that might not even be here THIS year. We're completely against the salary cap, and Jordan has said he isn't going over it.
The current squad is good enough to possibly make the playoffs, but nowhere near good enough to advance.
No Big Name stars (apologies to Gerald Wallace, who is a stud player but not a box office draw), luke-warm fan support.
And, no draft picks / free agents coming in to improve last years squad.
    Depressing.

It all depends on MJ and whether he can market the team better and get it to start making money. There is a good chance that they could be a playoff team for a couple of more years. They will need to rebuild to have a shot at a championship though.

The fan support is the most troubling to me. This franchise was counting on a Playoff Push but it seems to me that bump will only be temporary. It's really too bad they didn't win a game or two, they played Orlando pretty tough. Hopefully fans remember that and the feeling in the building during those two playoff games. If we could get that support night in and night out it would help.

As it is I still get looks when wearing Bobcats gear around town.

I think it has a chance to change around now with Jordan. I think so many saw Bob as just another Shinn and maybe even worse. Jordan really needs to be transparent in areas with the team that he can be.

That's a good point. I went to quite a few games after Jordan took ownership and the feeling in the arena was palpable. There was a newfound hope that had been snuffed out by BJ. Good riddence to that mf'er.

1st positive move of the off-season is offering the qualifying offer to keep Tyrus Thomas. Hopefully this might lead to getting a PG with Boris Diaw as trade?

I'm pissed we didn't get Heinrich. He's going to sit on Washington's bench behind John Wall and Gilbert Arenas (assuming they keep him.) I think Heinrich would probably start here over Felton?

I agree on both counts. Since the Bobcats didn't have a 2nd round draft pick to trade they didn't have a chance for this trade. 2nd round draft picks don't count against the cap until signed where 1st round pick do before signed. Any player that we could have traded them would have counted against the cap right away as well.

That's true, I was thinking it was a future second but you're right it was a current second that we didn't have. Apparently Heinrich has a pretty high contract too. I was trying to think of ways we could improve. I'm still not necessarily against bringing back Felton, I just thought he would play better this past year with all that was at stake for him. If we could get Billips to come in for a couple of years and bring Felton off the bench/6th man that might be interesting. Sort of leaves DJ up in the air though.

I have a feeling they will try to get a vet PG, let Felton walk and hope DJ can develop. We'll see though.

Felton got used and abused against Orlando. That is not a reason to get rid of him but it does not exactly fill you with confidence about his long term success. With that said I would not be upset if they bring him back.

If they could move Diaw and maybe Chandler to get a solid point guard or big man that would probably help them a lot. I am hoping Thomas can be the starter at the 4. Jackson, Wallace and Thomas would be pretty awesome together if Thomas can get it together.
